Funeral service for Kennedy Pitts, 56, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 4881 US Highway 29 South, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment in the Church Cemetery, Reverend Thomas Brown will officiate.
Mr. Pitts, who passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home in Auburn, Alabama, was born March 29, 1968 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m.
Mr. Pitts will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: one daughter, Yasmine Story of Houston, TX; one sister, Camil Welch of Auburn, AL; one brother, Walter Pitts, Jr. of Orlando, FL; three nephews, Dontavius (LaVesha) Washington of Charlotte, NC, Chandler Alexander and Antonio Welch both of Auburn, AL; one niece, Brianna Linberry of Auburn, AL; eleven aunts, Barbara (John L.) Adams, Mary Ann Gunn, Bernice Hutchinson, Mary Faye Slaughter, Valerie Fort, Lillie B. Rick, Lillar M. Bass, Geraldine Pitts all of Auburn, AL, Dorothy Anny Hutchinson, Mary Alice Hutchinson all of Opelika, AL and Juanita (Henry) Corey of Columbus, GA; eight uncles, King Solomon (Sherita) Hutchinson, Jr. of Auburn, AL, Marvin Pitts, Solomon (Annie Lee) Pitts, James Pitts, David (Deloise) Pitts all of Auburn, AL, Jody (Patricia) Pitts, Aaron (Brenda) Pitts and John Pitts all of Notasulga, AL; three best friends, Mitchell Dowdell of Opelika, AL, Lamar Harris of Auburn, AL and Randy Ogletree of Atlanta, GA; as a father figure, Coach Larry DiChiara; a host of other relatives and friends.
