Funeral service for David Foster, 74, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate. (Facial covering is required)
Mr. Foster, who passed away, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born July 13, 1948 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required). Mr. Foster will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Betty Foster of Opelika, AL; four children, Bobby Houston, Patricia (Kenneth) Foreman, Betty J. Foster all of Opelika, AL and Eddie James “EJ” Houston of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Jarquesive Foster, Keneisha Foreman, Tiare Foster, Teasia Foster, Kentavious Foreman, Bea’Elise Houston, Nicholas Houston and Blake Houston; two great grandchildren, Amy Foster and Khloe Foster; one sister, Nellie Faye Carr of Far Rockaway, NY; one brother, Bruce Calloway of New York; nine sisters-in-law, Georgia (Robert) Williams, Daisy Heard, Bertha Lockhart, Jeanette Parker, Carolyn Calloway all of Opelika, AL, Patricia (Willie) Ward of Atlanta, GA, Lyric Holloway of Lafayette, AL, Willie Ann Thomas of Brooklyn, NY and Catherine Taylor of Far Rockaway, NY; six brothers-in-law, Johnny Houston, Larry Houston, Curtis Houston, Dewayne Houston, Dewhite Houston all of Opelika, AL and Dover Palmore of Cusseta, AL; three special friends, Lorenza “Bud” Holcey, Oscar Penn and James McCurdy all of Opelika, AL; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
