Funeral service for Curtis Murph, Jr., 71, of Huntsville, AL, formerly Waverly, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Christ Temple Holiness Church, 610 Clanton Street, Opelika, AL 36801, Bishop Kenneth R. Carter will officiate.
Mr. Murph, who passed away, Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Arlington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Birmingham, Alabama, was born September 1, 1952, in Lee County, Alabama.
Mr. Murph will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive guest during that hour.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved and devoted daughter, Lakesha Tolbert of Huntsville, AL, who was his caregiver; his beloved son, Janorris Tolbert of Huntsville, AL; his bonus son, Antonya Tolbert of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Jaquaivious Pitts, Jayden Pitts, Jakailyn Parks, Journee Parks, and Jae’Star Parks all of Huntsville, AL; who affectionately called him “GaGa”, Lamarcus Butler (Alexandria) of Columbus, GA and Kendarius Watson of Atlanta, GA; four sisters; Sylvia G. Stephens of Hyattsville, MD, Sherry Murph of Waverly, AL, Pamela Harris of Loachapoka, AL and Karen (James) Allen of Montgomery, AL; three brothers, Kenneth Murph of Tallassee, AL, Glenn L. (Barbara) Murph of Atlanta, GA and Terry L. (Mena) Murph of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
I worked with Curtis on Dr Pearson Farm. He was so kind, helpful and always kept a smile on his face. That's what I will cherish always. RIP.
