Obituary For Annie Frances "Ms. Frances" Thornton

Funeral service for Annie Thornton, 86, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022, Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Reverend Carnell Battle will officiate.

Ms. Thornton, who passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born October 28, 1935 in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 15, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Jimmy Thornton of Opelika, AL and Barbara (Roger) Haley of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Mary Ann Thornton of Decatur, GA, Mary L. Thornton of Opelika, AL, Christine Thornton of Rex, GA and Patricia (Robert) McGuire of Decatur, GA; one extended brother, Otis Ragland of Talladega, AL; one grandson, Jimmy L. (Lakea) Thornton of Opelika, AL, one great-grandson, Jimmy “Jay “ J. Thornton of Opelika, AL, and three great-great grandchildren; a special devoted niece, Pamela Mitchell of Opelika, AL; four special friends, Stephine Washington, Mary Ann Vines, Ruby Terry and Michael Scott all of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
