Obituary For Mrs. Sandra Gale Eger

The clock of life exchanged time for eternity, for the Eger's family beloved: Mrs. Sandra Gale Eger of Valdosta Georgia.

To our bountiful Father above, we will offer our tribute of praise for the glorious gift of His love And the blessings that hallow our days.

It was Tuesday, August 2, 2022, that Gale slipped into the land that is fairer than day, and by faith we can see it afar. For the Father waits over the way, to prepare us a dwelling place there.

Sandra Gale Thomas Eger was born on July 16, 1942, to the late George and Montine (Davis) Thomas. She was a dedicated wife of 49 years to the love of her life, William (Bill) Arthur Eger, Jr. She was a mother not only to her stepchildren but to the hundreds of students she taught and dearly loved. Gale was a devoted daughter, sister, and grandmother. She graduated from Valdosta High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wichita State University in Kansas. Gale ran the award-winning drama program "Off Broadway" in the Lowndes County school system for 23 years. She unconditionally loved and adored her students, as they mutually adored her for her love, acceptance and guidance. Her love of the community and theatrics enabled her to assist in creating the Theatre Guild Valdosta. Gale was truly a shining star in every aspect of her life. Prior to teaching, Gale performed in professional theatre in New York as well as worked in television as a local reporter in the Panama City and Fort Myers, Florida markets. Gale was extremely passionate about human rights and the civility of mankind. She truly cared and loved all that she encountered.

Gale was preceded in death by her parents George Perry Thomas and Montine Davis Thomas, and stepfather, Hughey P. Blanton.

Gale Thomas Eger leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, William Arthur Eger, Jr., stepchildren, Bill Eger (Patty) and Keley Brown (Rick); four step siblings, Tracey Jackson, Melba Corso, Shelby Thompson, and Clyo Blanton; four grandchildren, Greg Eger, Cullen Eger, Claire Brown, and Julia Brown; and one great grandchild, Ellie Eger.

Gale Eger's life will be remembered and celebrated by her family, friends and community on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10:00 AM from Christ The King Episcopal Church - 110 Mckey Street, Valdosta Georgia.

Immediately following services, friends are asked to meet at The Hilton Garden Inn:1702 Gornto Road Valdosta, Georgia.

Private Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of Flowers, the family is asking that you donate to a charity of your choice in remembrance of Gale.
