A charge to keep I have, A God to glorify, A never-dying soul to save, and fit it for the sky. To serve the present age, my calling to fulfill: Oh, may it all my pow’rs engage to do my Master’s will! Arm me with jealous care, As in Thy sight to live; And O Thy servant, Lord, prepare A strict account to give Help me to watch and pray, And on Thyself rely, Assured, if I my trust betray, I shall forever die.
Mr. Michael T. Matchett of Valdosta Georgia was born Thursday, April 28, 1960. He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, he has kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give him at that day: and not to him only, but unto all of them also that love His appearing.
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, His master replied, “Well Done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Funeral Services to celebrate his life, will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00 PM from the sanctuary of St. Paul AME Church - 419 South Ashley Street, Valdosta, GA.
Final Resting Place: Pallbearers Cemetery - Riverside Drive, Valdosta GA.
Always and forever, we will remember and Love Michael T. Matchett.

I remember Mr. Michael meeting him for the 1st time in church before my daughter n his son married. He was singing a song n my mouth dropped open in disbelief of how much sweet sound could come from this man. He sounded like Lou Rawls to me. R. I. P. Brother Michael
