Harrington Funeral Home Inc., have been charged in humbled submission to the will of God and the Battles Family to carry out the final care and compassionate services for:
Mr. Joseph W. Battles, age 79 of Valdosta, GA, transitioned from this life on Friday, July 31, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Curtis and Estella Battle; sister: Clara Worthy; brothers, Curtis Battle and Rudolph Battle.
A Time To Plant: Joseph received his education from the Valdosta City School System, graduating from Pinevale High School where he played football as a quarterback.
A Time To Love: God blessed Joseph with eight beautiful children.
A Time To Give: He worked at Metal Product. He also was a bus driver for the Head Start Daycare, as well as a painter in his spare time until his health began to decline in 2013.
A Time To Rest: Joseph leaves to cherish his memories a special friend: Minnie Lawson of Valdosta, GA.; his children: Cynthia Nelson (Arlonzo Sr.), Merita Robinson (Johnnie) of Douglas, GA, Joseph Battle Jr., Anthony Battle (Melissa), Carl Battle of Shreveport, LA., Darrell Battle (Michlene), Jeffery Manning all of Valdosta, GA., Maecola Battle of Gainesville, FL.; one sister-in-law: Veronica Battle of Columbus, GA.; 23 grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
His life will be celebrated on Friday, August 07, 2020 at 10:00 AM from Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mask and Social Distancing is a requirement. Pastor Aden P. Fluker, Jr., officiating.
