I'm Curtis Williams it saddens me to know coach is gone. I didn't know he passed because I don't live in Valdosta any longer. But He was the best coach ever someone I will never forget. I met coach Waters when I was at Valdosta junior high and I thought he was the coolest 😎 coach ever. Love you Sir and thank you for being apart of our lives. 😢😢😢

My deepest condolences and sympathy to the Waters family. My prayers are that you will find God's word some source of encouragement at this very difficulty time. Losing someone we love so much is never easy. Do take comfort in knowing that Jehovah promises us at 2 Corinthians 1:3 he is the God (Jehovah) of tender mercies and the God of all comfort. He is closed to all those broken hearted...Psalms 34:18. Keep all the beautiful memories close to heart. Lewis Family

My condolences to the family of Coach Waters. I started typing and felt like I was writing "Muddy's" obituary myself. Coach Waters was an extraordinary guy. Cool, calm, and collected. Great player in his own right! Great Coach! I can still see him with those dark glasses. I imagine that he and Jack are up there scheming a defense to stop the next opponent! God Bless, Mark Perry
Thank you my friend for helping to make me the man I am today. Our journey together began for me as an 8th grade football player at Valdosta Jr. High School and continued through our coaching along side each other for many years at Valdosta High School. I was just one of many lives that were touched by Coach Freddie Waters. Love you my friend and rest in peace. And all the angels sang AMEN, AMEN!
When we were somewhere between the ages of 15 and 18, we've listened to our head coach's pregame speech, our hearts have been racing, we're all hot and sweating, and our minds have been a bit scattered because all we can think about is exploding on to the field of battle to win for our hometown; it was the calming words and settling songs of Coach Waters that turned an eruption into a fine-tuned machine capable of just about anything on a Friday night in Valdosta, Georgia. Words cannot describe it. Many thanks Coach for your calm, strength, and wisdom. '91
We are truly thankful and blessed to have gotten to know Coach Waters through the VHS Wildcats & Church Worship. We Thank The Lord for The Life of Coach Waters. I first met coach Freddie Waters in my junior year as a football player for the Pinevale High School Tigers back in 1960.
As a former college football player himself he deeply loved the game and as a coach he knew how to reassure and motivate a player in a firm, yet calm and gentle manner. And after all of the years I knew him, I can proudly say he was one of the nicest person's I have ever known.
Rest in peace coach Waters, you made a positive difference in so many young lives, thank God for the work you have done. Freddie L Sirmans Sr. Valdosta, GA.

To the family of coach Waters, truly, we have lost a great man from this earth but coach is not lost. Our Heavenly Father's Word tells us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." I was introduced to coach by my father, Mr. Norman Britt, Jr. a great friend of his, when I was a teenager and his greatness showed even then. God's BLESSINGS to your family. Patricia Ann Britt Anderson & Gerone Anderson, Jr.(Mr. Gee) twins, Ge'Veria & Ge'Da Sha Anderson, Jacksonville, Florida
