OFFICIAL NOTICE OF TRANSITION: Mother Nettie L. Pitts - Sunrise: April 6, 1949, Sunset: January 30, 2025.
Seldom has God given so much to many people through one woman. #NLP
It is with profound sadness, honor, and respect that we the professional staff of Harrington Funeral home, Inc., join with the entire Pitts & Shaw family announcing the earthly transition of a beloved pillar, the late:
Mother Nettie L. Pitts Sunrise: April 6, 1949, to the late Robert and Nettie Mae Watts in Miami, FL. She was a dedicated wife to the late Rev. Marvin C. Pitts, Sr. She was devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, spiritual mother, and woman of God. She was educated in the Miami-Dade Public School System: Northwestern, Dorsey, and Lindsey Hopkins Tech.
Sunset: Thursday, January 30, 2025 (in her 75th season) Her passing reminds us that death is sure, but life is uncertain.
Mother Pitts accepted Christ at an early age and continued her walk with the Lord, until her last days - serving in several capacities.
When her husband, the late Reverend Marvin Pitts retired from active ministry, they both maintained their position in Ministry serving under the pastorate of Pastor Bernard L. Robinson Sr. As a member of Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church, she was active in all aspects of the church's life. She held positions as church mother, prayer warrior, mission worker, and pastor's support. She remained a shining example of humility and respect. Her smile would illuminate the environment. Her involvement with the church extended to the 5th Sunday Union and Association levels.
In celebration of her life, we share the following poem: My Last Move I've made my final move, my journey's at an end From earthly pain to heavenly gain, I've transcended No more sorrow, no more tears Just eternal joy, and endless cheers I've left behind the things of this world To inherit a crown, and a heavenly pearl My heart is full, my soul is free In the presence of God, that's where I'll be So don't you mourn, don't you cry I'm in a better place, where love never dies I'll watch over you, from above And guide you home, with a mother's endless love.

A Prayer in the memory for My Godmother: Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you today, to lift up the memory of my precious Godmother, in a special way. A woman of faith, a pillar of strength, A shining example, of your love and length. I took pride in the mandate, Papa gave to me, to stand by your side, until your journeys complete. With God's strength, I fulfilled that promise, with honor and might, and now, I pray for your peaceful rest, in the morning light. You've been a blessing, a guiding light, A constant presence, in my life's plodding night. Your prayers, your wisdom, your loving care, have helped shape me, into the person I am today, with gratitude I share. So, as you rest, in the arms of our Lord, I pray for your comfort, your peace, and your reward. May your heart be filled, with joy and delight, as you bask in the glory, of God's loving light.
Love, Sharon
