On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, Olivia G. Gravely, 93 of Elijah Cir., Martinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born December 9, 1930, in Martinsville, VA to the late Henry O. Gravely and Audrey Lee Woods Gravely.
In addition to her parents, Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gravely; one daughter, Schenita Coles, and one son, Harold Gravely.
Olivia was a member of the Galilean House of Worship where she was a member of the Usher's Ministry. She retired from American Furniture Company after many years of service.
Olivia leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Laverne Gravely-Dalton (Warren) and Vickie Kidd both of Martinsville, VA, and Hazel Johnson of Danville, VA; one son, Lloyd Gravely (Audrey) of Winston Salem, NC; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, David Gravely (Mary) of Axton VA; two sisters, Juanita Hairston and Della Gravely both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries, 205 Clearview Dr., Martinsville, VA with Bishop Michael Penn, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 635 Elijah Cir., Martinsville, VA. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
