Hester Wade of Martinsville, VA., made her transition from earth to heaven, Friday, October 26, 2018 at her home. She was born to the late Nannie Lee Hairston. She attended Henry County Public Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Wade, three brothers, Henry, James, and Robert Hairston, and a stepson, Chester Millner.
Mrs. Wade leaves to cherish her legacy, two loving sons, Stanley(Jeanette) Wade and Carl (Teawanda) Wade both of Martinsville, VA; six grandchildren, Donta (Devona) Wade of Maryland; Latoya (Frank) Penn, Carlos (Stephanie) Wade, Teacarla Wade, Trevor Wade all of Martinsville, VA; Monique Finney of Roanoke, VA; five great grandchildren, Saniya, Savion, Zoe, Nyla, Kennedy, one sister, Margaret Eggleston of Atlanta, GA; two sister-in- laws, Bernice and Shirley Hairston both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wade was a member of Morning Star Holy Church where she was the Missionary President, a dedicated Sunday School teacher, Church Treasurer, Choir member and also the Church Mother. She was a dedicated worker retiring from Sara Lee Knitting with 20 years of service. After retirement, she was a volunteer reader at Mt. Olivet Elementary School.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Wednesday, October 31,2018 and all other times at the home of her son, Stanley Wade, 209 Falcon Rd., Martinsville, VA. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Morning Star Holy Church, 2839 Stoney Mountain Rd., Martinsville, Va. 24112. Bishop James Millner, Presiding and Rev. Tyler Millner, Eulogist.
Burial will follow in Morning Star Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, Va.

My condolences to Carl,Stanley and the Wade family for the loss of Aunt Hester. I always call her ny aunt because as a child my sister and brothers admired her and Uncle Bill so much. They showed us so much love and caring for people just like they were family. She will be missed by many. Another has angel has went to heaven. She was a prime example of a true Christian.
