Lessie S. Holland, 91, of Figsboro Rd., Martinsville, VA departed from this life to eternal life on Friday, January 10, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Franklin County, VA on November 1, 1933, to the late Roy Smith and Susie Cook Smith.
In addition to her parents, Lessie was preceded in death by one daughter, Vona H. Martin, and two sons, Abraham Junior Holland and Alvin J. Holland.
Lessie was a member of Providence Church of Christ, Martinsville, VA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Minister John Holland of the home; one daughter, Sharon Holland of Martinsville, VA; six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. the family will be present. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 1495 Figsboro Rd., Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
