On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Joe Nathan Moore 75, of Lakewood Trail, Martinsville transitioned peacefully from this earthly life at SOVAH Health-Martinsville. He was born on July 6, 1949, in Virginia to the late James Moore and Thelma Preston Moore.
Joe was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an Usher, the Male Chorus and President of the Choir. He retired from E.I. Dupont after twenty-six years of service. Joe was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School class of 1967. He furthered his education by receiving certification as a Mechanical Technician from Patrick & Henry Community College.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rona Jones Moore of the home; one sister, Dorothy Richardson of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA with Pastor Benjamin Redd, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Fairhaven Memorial Park, 18960 A.L. Philpott Hwy., Spencer, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 635 Lakewood Trail, Martinsville beginning Thursday, December19, 2024, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
