Obituary For Harry L. Clements

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, Harry L. Clements 81, of Water Oak Rd., Callands, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at his residence. Born September 27, 1940, in Pittsylvania Co., VA, he was the son of J R Clements, and Hannah Berger Clements who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his foster parents who raised him, Claude Swanson Prunty, and Ottie Murphy Prunty; and his siblings.

Harry retired from Hooker Furniture Co. after many years of service and was a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish his memory include: one sister, Octavia Fitzgerald of Danville, VA; two foster sisters, Greta Lipford of Callands, VA, and Virginia Baker of Axton, VA; one foster brother, George Prunty of Jamestown, NY; special nieces, Linda Witcher and Queen Martin both of Axton, VA; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Elder Joe Lewis Hairston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at the Rogers Family Cemetery, 1971 Still Meadow Rd., Axton, VA. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 1973 Water Oak Rd. Callands, VA. The family ask that when visiting the home that you would please observe all COVID 19 guidelines.
