Darryl Wayne Jamison transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his residence in Orlando, Florida. Born August 6, 1965, in Martinsville, he was the son of Doretha Peters Jamison, and the late Ivory Lee Jamison.
Darryl attended Laurel Park High School. After high school he was employed by Tultex in Martinsville Va. After moving to Florida, Darryl became a Veterinarian Assistant for Interlachen Animal Clinic, Winter Park, FL.
Darryl loved to work with animals, fishing, cars and music. He loved making everyone around him laugh as he missed his calling to be a Comedian. Darryl was a self-made musical artist in his own way and loved to play keyboards and guitars. His Porsche was his child, as well as his pet snake, Slim, that he donated to Disney World.
He was proceeded in death by his Father, Ivory Lee Jamison and his beloved Grandmother, Dossie K. Peters. Those left to cherish his memory include: his mother, Doretha Peters Jamison of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Dennis Jamison of Bassett, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Gravely-Eggleston Family Cemetery with Reverend Carlton Redd, Presiding, and Reverend F. Dion Noel, Eulogist. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. I had the pleasure of being Darryl's co-worker and friend for the last 7 years. There was never a day that went by that he didn't have a smile on his face, or laughter in his heart. I'll never forget our life talks, our fishing trips, our jokes, and all of his witty advice. There was no one like Darryl. I'll forever be thankful to have known him and been apart of his life for as long as I did. To his mother, brother and all his family and friends, my deepest condolences and love go out to all of you in this hard time. Kathy Fior Interlachen Animal Clinic Winter Park Florida

I was Darryl's neighbor this last two years and was so terribly sad to hear just today of his passing. Though I didn't know him well I could see he was a gentle spirited, funny, and kind man. God had me praying for him the last month extra. Praying for his family that grieve now and may God comfort as only He can.
