Billie Jean Wade, 86, of Forest Lake Dr., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the home of her daughter. She was born in Sydnorsville, VA on June 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter L. Joyce and the late Charlotte Hughes Joyce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Noel Wade, Sr.; one son, Eugene Noel "Ricky" Wade, Jr.; two grandsons, Douglas Holland, Jr. and Donald Anthony Jones, Jr.; one sister, Ida Maxine Turner; one brother, Alan Junior Hughes.
"Betty" as she was called, was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where she sang with the Pilgrim Travelers. She retired from Pulaski Furniture Company after 20 plus years of service.
"Betty" leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Charlotte "Dixie" Holland and her husband Doug of Fayetteville, NC, Edna Wade Jones of Newport News, VA, Ann Wade Merritt, and Arnita L. Wade both of Martinsville, VA; seven grandchildren, Leagene "Nickie" Carter, Camisha Holland, Camille Galloway, Marcus Holland, Latasha Wade, Tiffany Jones, and Takesha Dani Moore; 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. The family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Arnita Wade, 903 Forest Lake Dr., Martinsville, VA. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.

I will miss her dearly because we shared so many comforting words!!! I remembered how she would look forward to seeing you girls and would wait on her dinner!!!!
