Obituary For Andrew j. "Mickey" Deshazo

Andrew Jackson “Mickey” Deshazo, Jr, age 61 of Raleigh, NC passed away unexpected on 07/05/2023. He was predeceased by his father Andrew Jackson DeShazo, Sr and grandparents, Forest and Callie Becker.

He is survived by his mother, Lillian Odell DeShazo, sister, Delois "Lois" DeShazo, and brother, James "Jay" DeShazo. His five children, Bentley "BJ" DeShazo, Forrest DeShazo, Andrew "AJ" DeShazo, DeAndre, Andrea, grandchildren, niece, nephews, and a host of extended families and friends.

Mickey attended and graduated from Martinsville High School, served as a Marine, then settled in Raleigh, NC.

The family is having a walk-through memorial at Hairston Funeral Home on 08/11/2023 from 1p-2p.

I'm really sad to learn of Andrew's passing. While I was teaching photography at the Living Arts College in Raleigh, Andrew was my teaching assitent. not to mention my best studendt, always eager to learn. He was alway very enthusiastic and had a very positive outlook which translated to the other students in the class. He will be missed. Seth Benson
