We share with his family and friends the great sense of loss and sorrow at the sudden passing of Pastor Crummie. He was always a friend and partner of Cru Inner City both through Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and Carver Bible College. We all benefited greatly from his vision, passion and zeal for the people and mission of God. He leaves a large and lasting legacy in the lives of many. Our prayers for God’s loving comfort and strength for the difficult days ahead are with his wife, children and friends. Dearest Carla,....Words cannot express the sorrow that I felt when I heard of the untimely and heartbreaking loss of your beloved husband, Robert. I had really hoped that you had found your "shining knight", and it is so devastating and seemingly unfair that you, Meghan, and your Atlanta family and friends have lost Rev. Crummie so soon. He really seemed like a fine man, and I truly hope that you will find comfort in the many wonderful memories that you two shared. I send my Love and support! - Gary Press (Woodstock, Maryland)
I remember Rev. Dr. Robert Wayne Crummie like it was just yesterday we first met. The year was 1997 when he came to Jamaica on missions and was the guest speaker at Cana Gospel Hall youth camp in Manchester at the then Jamaica Bible College. The way he spoke and rap with us as youths made it hard to forget him. Later when l became a student of his beloved purpose school-Carver Bible College, l grew to love the passion of this man, his pursuit for God and his impeccable moral character. He was a great teacher, preacher, husband, father, Pastor and President. We miss you Dr. Crummie, but your influence and impact is still with us! Walk good my brother. Wayne Biggs

President Crummie was my husbands boss at Carver. He gave my husband the opportunity to do what he loves, and that’s coach. He opened this door for him to act within his passion and for this I’ll be forever grateful. This was so sudden, but none of us know the time or the hour and for this I know it could only be orchestrated by our lord and savior. President Crummie will be missed around Carver. I’m thankful for his presence in my husband life and for all the games we caused havoc as we yelled Cougars loud and proud! To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord.......rest on! Praying for your sweet family.....with sincere thoughts. Kymberly Spencer
Dr. Crummie and I are friends. To me he was a great teaching preacher. I learned from him. He ran revival at our church and I my God what a time. He even hooked. Early in December he asked me to come and preach at Carver Bible College I asked him to give me another date due to my injury and surgery. We shook hands and agreed. When I heard of his passing today I cried and I mourn now. My prayers and sincere condolences are extended to his family and his church. We will understand it better by and by. When the morning comes
Robert and I attended and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary. I remember on day we was sharing our vision with each other. He asked, "So, Free what are you going do with your seminary degree?" Without hesitation, I said," Open my private practice in counseling." I turned asked him, "So what you gonna do with your ThM degree?" I was ready for his response! In a matter-of-fact way, he said," I'm gonna become the president of a college!" I had never met anyone who had such high aspirations. We served together at the non-profit STEP Foundation where he worked with the teen boys from James Madison High School and I worked with the teen girls. Without a doubt, Robert became the President of Carver College in the Atlanta, GA area. Robert, my husband (Gentry) and I last saw each other at Lil Rob's graduation celebration at Carver College. Miss him, dearly. Prayers for Carla and the kids.
May the wonderful memories of our beloved Rev. Crummie help to carry you and your family throughout the next few days and always.
