Mr. Virgil Adolphus Carr

I am just learning of the passing of Dr Carr. Dr Carr was the first person to introduce me to Accounting I and Accounting II. He was brilliant and dedicated to his profession and he made learning the discipline so easy. He was also a strict disciplinarian so much so that if you were one minute late for his class you would find yourself locked out the door. His endless jokes in class were also a trademark of his teaching. He was a wonderful person and will truly be missed. My sincere condolences to his entire family. (CAU Class of 2000)

There are a lot of instructors out there but few teachers and Professor Carr (Dr. Carr as I called him) was a true teacher. He loved accounting and he inspired that love in his students through his jokes and unorthodox way of teaching. I chuckle when I think of all the fun times in his class, if he hadn't loved accounting so much he would have been a great comedian. He really cared for his students and not just inside the classroom, he even took time out to attend my wedding and I was truly touched by that. Dr. Carr has touched the lives and hearts of so many and will be thoroughly missed. What a blessing to have known such a great person. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family and all who loved him. (CAU, Class of 2001)

My heart goes out as well as my prayers to the family of this outstanding Gentlemen. I have known Mr Carr since I was a kid. He handled my families tax affairs for over 30 years.
