Teresa Sims Young, age 60, transitioned from this life on Monday, March 21, 2022 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Keith Haywood and Betty Jo Stevenson Sims. She was a member of First Antioch Interdenominational Church where the Power of God falls just like rain. She earned her GED at Gaston College. She was a CNA at Accordius Health of Gastonia. She enjoyed traveling and parasailing.
She was preceded in death by her father Keith Haywood and her mother Betty Jo Stevenson Sims; brother, Gary Sims; sisters Cathy Sims, JoAnn Hughes, and Karen Haywood. Grandson Darren Smith, and nephews Jermaine Jefferies, Shelton Robinson and great nephew Shelton Robinson.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughters Tantalus Fair, Termeisha Smith (Derrick), Tela Sims, Tammy Littlejohn; sisters: Sandra Martin (Timothy), Tracey Young; brother: Kenny Ray Sims. Eight grandchildren: Keefier Sims, Malcom Sims, Jamemanuel Oglesby, Octavia Smith, Dyamonta’ Sims, Antoiney Kennedy, Teresa Carter, and Zuri Smith. Six great grandchildren: Ka’Liyah Sims, Darren Sims, Keefier Sims Jr., Maliyah Sims, Hailey Smith, and Hayden Smith. Five God daughters: LaQuitta Wallace, Desaree Linder, Jessica Gibson, Keyshan Wallace, and Jakayla Brice. Godson, Cameron Craig-Glenn. Honorary daughter LaTonya Craig-Glenn (Derrick). Special son, Vincent Carter, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral on Saturday; March 26, 2022 at First Antioch Church, Gastonia at 1:00 p.m. with thirty minute visitation before the service.
Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
