Reverend Candace Vadrene Davidson was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on June 21, 1939 to the late James Davidson and the late Ethel McDaniel. God called her from her labor to get her reward on Tuesday; December 7, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.
Rev. Candace received her calling and was licensed to preach the gospel on August 6, 2006. To continue in her calling and ministering, she was a member of the Gaston County Missionary Baptist Association of North Carolina and an affiliate member of the National Christian Counselors Association. She received her certification in North Carolina school age childcare and completed training as a volunteer in the community as a hospice chaplain. Rev. Candace worked and retired from K-mart after seventeen years and York Chester Junior High School after twenty-six years. She was considered by the City Gastonia as a “transit mom” because she was always providing cookies, cakes, candy, knives, forks or whatever was needed. She will be truly missed by every one that knew or had contact with her.
Precious memories will be forever cherished by her family: Kevin Marks of Goose Creek, SC, Maureen Marks-Diew (Tony) of Dallas, North Carolina and Diane Marks; nieces: Charlotte Horne, Pruella Hunter and Joyce Love; grandchildren: Temon, Travis, Laianna, Sadonna and Clarissa; seventeen great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Sis Candy was not only a great friend and mentor to our family, but she was also a prayer warrior that stood in the gap for us. Her light will continue to shine, and her prayers that were sent up will continue to availeth much here on earth. She will be missed. Johnathan Neely
I met Candace over forty years ago at Kmart. We had a great rapport that lasted for years. Candace didn't have a problem praying with and for me not did she have a problem sharing praise reports with me. Although we didn't see each other much over the years, whenever we crossed paths it was like we had never been away from each other. She'll always have a special place in my heart.
I worked with Candace for several years at York Chester middle school and she was such a shining light for All to see! She will be missed. Sing with the angels my dear friend! Denise Gould
Candace was a beautiful soul! She was so helpful and kind! She will be missed! Rest in peace!
Minister Candace and I met well over 35 years ago. She had the most beautiful eyes that could pierce you. She was kind, honest and God fearing. She was radical for God and we all should be. Last year we had a chance to reconnect at Destiny Church. She was a jewel and will be greatly missed

She was one of the most encouraging people I've ever known. I loved chatting with her when she would be at school and she always ALWAYS did her best to make me feel supported and reminded of how much God loved me. Thank you for sharing her with us. Jennifer Goodwin (York Chester Middle School)
