Obituary For Lisa McCorkle

Mrs. Lisa Gaston McCorkle was born on January 16, 1960 in Gastonia, North Carolina. She made her Heavenly home on Saturday; March 7, 2020 at Novant Hospice Care Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.

She attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Lisa began her work career at American & Efird in Mt. Holly, NC. Lisa loved children and began working at Tiny Tot Daycare in Belmont, NC and she continued at Angel Care Daycare in Stanley, NC until health problems caused her to retire.

She was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel where she served as an usher and sang on the choir. Lisa loved spending time with her family and enjoyed planning family cookouts. She loved socializing with her friends and going out to eat, especially going to eat seafood. Some of her favorite things to cook were homemade pound cakes, roast, ribs and frying fish. She made an impact on everyone she met and everyone knew she loved the Lord.

Lisa is preceded in death by her husband: Jerry McCorkle and grandmother: Lucille Gaston.

She leaves to cherish precious memories to her mother: Ruth G. Smith of Stanley, NC; two sisters: Marcella Patterson (Ray) and Brenda McLean (Reginald) of Mt. Holly, NC; one brother: Keith Gaston of Charlotte, NC; one uncle: Leonard Gaston (Deloris) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law: Noreta Gwynn (John) of Laurel, MD, Beverly Williams (Howard) of Wilmington, NC; two brothers-in-law: Perry McCorkle (Cathy) of Mt. Holly, NC and Pastor Charles McCorkle (Angelina) of Charlotte, NC; one godson: Tyrone McCullough and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral: Saturday; March 14, 2020; 1:00 p.m.; Wesley Chapel Holiness Church-324 N. Lee Street, Mt. Holly, NC

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church

Interment: West Creek Cemetery, Mt. Holly
