Isaac Lamar “Ikey” Byers, the son of Isaac Byers, was born on March 7, 1968 in Charlotte, NC. He departed this life on Tuesday; May 26, 2020 at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC.
At the age of three, he was brought to Clover, SC to be raised by his grandmother: Geneva Byers Henry, who is now deceased. There he received nothing but genuine care and love. In Clover, he attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and he developed friendships that were never ending in Clover.
He attended Clover High School and he started playing basketball in the seventh grade, that continued until his senior year. He played with Clover High Blue Eagles. He also played football. He loved Ohio State, Dallas Cowboys and the Lakers. His first job, at the age of 14, was with Kings Mountain State Park in maintenance. In his adult years, he worked with a detailing company and Randolph and Sons Construction Company.
Ikey had a wonderful personality and had no problem bringing a smile to your face. He loved and cherished his children. He will be missed by many.

Ikey is my grandson's father, and he was the best father a son could have. He will definitely be missed. Heaven has gained an angel and now Ikey can rest in peace with no more pain or suffering. We love you Ike.
Sending up much prayer for the entire family. Mable Bigger Hemphill
Precious I'm so sorry for the lost of your father.
Ikey will be missed. We used to play together along with my other cousins, Maury, Regina, and Cookie, when we were kids and I would visit during Revival season in Clover, SC.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
