Darlyce! Today is a sad day for me. You have been on my mind, and I have been thinking of you and searching for you for quite some time. Words cannot express the sorry I feel at this very moment as I read your obituary. Our lives went in different directions, in different parts of the world; but you were always in my heart. Our early years on "K" Street were great, awesome memories. Remembering how I was your and your mom's personal hair stylist:). Thank you for sharing your family with me.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Darlyce. She was indeed a vibrant and beautiful person. I will remember her kindness, care, and love shown to her mom, Ms. Florence. Darlyce visited us in Greenville, SC in March 2019. We went sighting seeing, shopping, eating, laughing, loving, hugging and catching up. The days we were together are even more treasured. It reminds to live each day to its fullest and with purpose as tomorrow is not promised. Darlyce valued her fulfilling career and experiences that granted her overseas assignments and travel opportunities. But as we know, she placed the highest value on relationships: family, friends, and colleagues. My heart was comforted by joyful memories of Darlyce. My husband, Uncle Goins, and I would drive from Norfolk, VA to my sister Florence's home; charmer Darlyce would come over to catch up. Some visits included shopping; ever-ready Darlyce knew just where to go. When I traveled to the Neverlands with the Eley family, guide extraordinaire Darlyce showed us all the sights. Darlyce was motivated, energetic, and passionate about work, sports, and having fun. She accomplished much during her earthly life, 04/22/1955—12/15/2020. A line from the poem, "The Dash", states it best "What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash." Thankful for the joy Darlyce brought me. Much love, Aunt Doris Lomax Goins

She was always energetic, funny and optimistic. It was noteworthy how she treated all children almost as if they were her own. In fact, my kids, upon learning of her passing said "What a wonderful woman she was to Ryan and me" and the other said "I'll always remember her as the life of the party." She made an impression that won't be forgotten.

I had the privilege of working with Darlyce as a young lawyer in the State Department's Office of International Claims. She was smart, sassy, funny, and can-do. She was the kind of person who made you want to do a better job because her standards were high and you didn't want to disappoint her. We got a lot done, but we also had a lot of fun along the way. Darlyce welcomed me into her family as a friend and sister. Because of her I experienced things I wouldn't. She always greeted me with EOT, before giving me a list of things I needed to put on my calendar. She leaves an empty spot that will never be filled. I loved her dearly and will miss all the adventures and conversations.
