February 14, 1980 - August 16, 2022

Arlene Bernadette Moore was born February 14, 1980, in Fayetteville, NC to Joann Hodges of Florence, SC and Bobby Davis Easley of Alexandria, VA. From an early age and fitting for a Valentine’s Day baby, Arlene Bernadette was known for how hard she loved others as well as her bold personality, fearlessness, and sharp sense of humor. As a toddler, she loved to play with her father’s military boots, and so he gave her the nickname “Boot.” When Arlene Bernadette was 4-years-old, she moved in with her paternal grandparents Davis and Odessa Louise Easley in the Del Ray area of Alexandria, VA. Her beloved grandmother Odessa became a loving maternal figure with whom Arlene Bernadette shared a special bond. In Del Ray, Arlene Bernadette also lived with her Uncle Greg, Aunt Teena, and younger cousin Sean. One of the loving traditions she shared with her Aunt Teena was enjoying her French toast by request and listening to her sing “You Are My Friend” by Patti LaBelle to her and her cousin Sean. The home that they shared in Del Ray was the center of weekend family gatherings and where Arlene Bernadette bonded with her cousins during playtime and trips to the corner store for treats. Arlene Bernadette also enjoyed outings with her Aunt Jackie (Jacquelyn Elaine) who was also a Valentine’s Day baby.

Arlene Bernadette attended Cora Kelly Magnet Elementary School in Alexandria, VA from kindergarten through the second grade. After moving with her grandmother to Macon, GA, she attended John W. Burke Elementary School, McEvoy Middle School, and Southwest High School. As one of her extracurricular activities, Arlene Bernadette learned to play the clarinet which she loved. In high school, she joined the marching band and developed a passion for performing at sports games and competitions. Always a hard worker, she worked after school at Burger King. Arlene Bernadette graduated from the Youth Challenge Academy in Fort Stewart, GA where she was a member of the Drill Team and Captain of the Color Guard. At Youth Challenge, she also earned the title of Platoon Guide for her Platoon. Outside of her studies and cadet training, she was keen on making fashion statements and enjoyed connecting with new people from all groups and walks of life. One summer Arlene Bernadette visited her Dad in Fort Walton Beach, FL where he taught her how to drive a stick shift automobile. She also traveled with her grandmother and her Aunt Lillie, Uncle Trell, and her cousins Lauren and Trey for family reunions, vacations, and other adventures. Arlene referred to her Aunt Lillie as a mother and affectionately called her by her middle name Pearl. Her cousins Lauren and Trey were like a sister and brother to her.

Following high school graduation, Arlene Bernadette began her professional career. With her expressive eyes, beautiful smile and detail-orientation, she excelled in a variety of roles in hospitality, retail, office management, hospital administration, and professional services. In adulthood, Arlene Bernadette continued to enjoy and was very knowledgeable of all things related to cosmetics, hair, and fashion. Arlene Bernadette returned to Alexandria, VA following the passing of her beloved grandmother and stayed with her Aunt Teena and cousin Sean. Later she furthered her education at Northern Virginia Community College. During her time in Alexandria, VA, she spent many years with her Aunt Lillie and Uncle Trell, where many memories were created. Over the years, Arlene Bernadette amassed a network of friends and loved ones throughout the D.C. Metropolitan Area.

Arlene Bernadette passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. She was a true original with striking beauty and a wit to match. She had a way with words that could make you reflect on life or make you laugh so hard you were brought to tears. In true Aquarius fashion, she would speak her mind and tell you about yourself. Arlene Bernadette had a profound passion for loving on and pouring into her special family and friends. She is missed dearly and will continue to be missed by all those who were lucky and blessed to know her. We will continue to celebrate her life and legacy. She is survived by her parents; her uncle Lutrelle Parker, Jr. and aunt Lillie Easley Parker; her uncle Allen Kinney and aunt Shirley Easley Kinney; her uncle Gregory Easley; her siblings Leon Brown, Keithron Moore, Lynette Archie, and Charvis Moore; cousins Jerry Vaughan, Jr., Jeremy Vaughan, Lauren Parker, Sean Easley, and Lutrelle “Trey” Parker, III; other aunts and uncles; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Parker-Easley-Kinney families request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Arlene's memory. To view the donation page, please click the below link: https://raiseyourway.donordrive.com/index.cfmfuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&participantID=4168
