THE OBITUARY
Deacon Robert Lee Thomas was one of nine children, and was born March 4, 1950, to the late Ollice Thomas, Sr. and Annie Pearl Stephens Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lashun James Thomas, two brothers, Rev. Ollice Thomas, Jr. and Ronald Thomas, two sisters, Barbara Jean Thomas and Gwendolyn Jones.
Deacon Robert departed this life after a long illness on January 23, 2022. His family truly loved him, yet God loved him best. He endured life's battle and he passed the test.
At an early age he joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Later he moved to Cleveland, OH. He then relocated back to Gadsden, AL. and united with Attalla #1 AOH under leadership of Mary Washington and Elder Ida Riggins, and Bishop William McKinney. He later united with Lighthouse Church of Our Lord, where Steve Williams served as pastor.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, daughters, Kim and Jackie; son, Robert Thomas, Jr; brothers, Melvin Thomas, Gadsden, AL., William E. Thomas, Cleveland, OH; sisters, Dorothy Thomas, Macy, Arizona, and Edna Mae, Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Mary Thomas; special nephew, Lorenza Young, Jr.; special niece, Jessica (Bryan) Wansely, both of Gadsden; aunt, Bob Byers, Gadsden; chosen daughter Alexis Hughes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
