Namon was my uncle, he uses to go hunting with my grandpa and rent the trailer across the street from my mom and I. I remember looking through the trees walking home from school to see if they were there yet and even when they finally were I would check to see if they were back from hunting yet and would go there instead of home to see them. I would watch them play spades for hours and never play and not complain either because I just wanted to be with them and knew I only had weeks before hunting season was over and they would go home, uncle namon always made sure I got to go on at least one fishing trip and one black berry picking trip with them and we'd go back and make jam! I remember one specific memory was when uncle namon came back from hunting and I had just got to the driveway from walking home from school and he was so excited he just kept telling me to look in the back of the truck and when I did I saw a bear he had got and he was so excited because he had said at the beginning of the season he wanted one to make a rug! Well you got your bear uncle namon and left me with some of the best memories I will never forget. I love you so much uncle!
It was so wonderful to see how so many people loved Namon. I loved hearing all the stories and learning things about him that I didn't know. He used to use his Bullwinkle voice to entertain my boys when they were younger and we all got a kick out of it. I always loved hunting season when the guys would come out and go hunting with my dad, and after my dad passed they would still come out and search the forest for the "big one!" My favorite part of the deer has always been the liver and it was mine for sure If they got one. One year I remember they got 3 deer and they shot them all in the liver. They never lived that one down. Lots of good memories were made up in those hills of Northern California and that little hunting cabin (trailer). Even though I still miss those times, I'm forever grateful for the time spent together in laughter and all the memories.
