The Rev. Dr. Donald D. Davenport was a friend and a fellow clergy. We served the AME Church via of the 6th Episcopal District; the Augusta Conference; and the Vidalia-Wrens District. During our careers, we had the opportunity to serve the same Church (at different times, of course). The Wrens Chapel AME Church in Wrens, GA. I served as Presiding Elder at his home Church where his children and mother serve - The Paradise AME Church where The Rev. Sharon McDaniel Miller was the Pastor. I honor his wife, Sis. Zealine Davenport, and his family in Jefferson GA. You ALL have my love, prayers and condolences. Rev. Dr. Davenport will be missed by many. God Bless.
The Reddick, Riley and Glover families express our sincerest condolences to Pastor Davenport's family members. Pastor Davenport served Saint Paul AME Church in Vidalia for a little over 10 years. He was a great leader in this community and was well respected by many. Saint Paul accomplished many achievements under his leadership. May God bless his soul and grant him the rest he truly deserves, and may God give the family peace.
My condolences to the family of Sister Marcia and Minister Jeff Hargrove. Our hearts are sadden to hear of the loss of your father. However, we do know Rev. Davenport is with the Lord. Praying for Rev. Davenport"s beautiful wife as well. Love you Pittman family
We are deeply saddened to hear of our friend and good neighbor's passing. He was always willing to spend a few minutes in conversation as we met in our neighborhood. There are few as kind and giving as Mr. Davenport. I await our meeting again. Our prays and thoughts are with the family in this difficult time.
