Viewing will be held from 8:00-9:45 a.m. with services beginning immediately after on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
Zachariah, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Trell”, entered eternal rest on Friday January 5th, 2024.
He was a cherished member of Our Savior’s Church and found joy in his love for truck driving, especially the cross-country trips during his time as a truck driver. A jack of many trades, construction work was one of his passions. Trell's warm and welcoming nature meant he never met a stranger, and his love extended to everyone he encountered.
Zachariah “Trell” Zerangue is cherished by his mother, Natasha Chavis of Opelousas, LA fathers Zack Zerangue of Baton Rouge, La, who played a significant role in his adolescence, and John Robert of Opelousas, a presence in his life during the latter years. Trell is survived by his sister, Harmony Rue of Port Barre, LA, and his brother, Malik Chavis of Carencro, LA. Additionally, he leaves behind several other family members, including his children, Paris, Kaydenn, London, Journey, Zion and Jaden Zerangue who love him deeply, a niece, cousins, aunts, and a host of other relative and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emanuel and Rose Richard Chavis; great grandparents, Preston and Beulah Richard; and one uncle, Lionel Lavon Richard.
Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Joseph Jones.
