PALMETTO - Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Palmetto, LA for Mrs. Vivian T. Edwards, 90, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Lafayette General Hospital. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Bishop Leon Figgins, Pastor of St. Matthews Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Edwards leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Michael Edwards of Palmetto, LA and Clarence Edwards, both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Patricia Edwards of Palmetto, LA; two brothers, Clarence (Sheila) Texada, Sr. and O’Neal (Betty) Texada, both of Houston, TX; two sisters, Mabel Goodwin and Lillie Young, both of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Ethel Rideau (Perry) of Palmetto, LA, Alicia Bowman of Opelousas, LA, Barrice St. Romain of Ville Platte, LA and Cicily Semien (Donald) of Opelousas, LA; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Edwards; her parents, Clarence and Ethel Texada; one brother, Winston (Lonnie) Texada; four sisters, Clarise Simon, Bettye Johnson, Ethel Mae Hamilton and Shirley Cobb; and a sister-in-law, Georgia Texada.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church.
