Obituary For Tyana Marie Thomas

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home of Opelousas, LA for Ms. Tyana Marie “Teekie” Thomas, 32, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Opelousas General Health System. Mr. Clarence Mallet will be officiating the funeral service.

Teekie leaves to cherish her memories: her father, Harry Gorman of New Orleans, LA and her mother, Louise Washington and step father, Welton Washington of New Orleans, LA; two sons, Quamae Mallet and Qualyn Mallet, both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Myana Guillory of Opelousas, LA; five brothers, Harry Thomas of Opelousas, LA, Cedrick (Shanique) Thomas, Welton Washington, Jr. and Demon McMillan, all of Austin, TX, Darius (Vicki) Johnson of Slidell, LA and Roy (Misha) Thomas of New Orleans, LA; one sister, Kendra Washington of New Orleans, LA; maternal grandparents, Joann Norman and Leroy Norman; special friends, Sharona Glaude, Brittney Hudson, Darlisha Fabrue, Dree Hicks, Ty Mallet and Missy Lazard; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her son, Baby Boy Malik, Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Harry Gorman and Elizabeth Gorman; maternal great grandparents, Ida Mae Thomas and Johnny Alvin Thomas, Sr.; one brother, Jarrell Thomas; and her aunt/God mother, Theresa Thomas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.

The family wishes to acknowledge a special thanks to: Always Homecare of Opelousas, Immaculate Heart of Mary and Infinity School of Lafayette where she was attending certified nursing assistant classes.
