Obituary For Traviona Alexia "Minnie" Esprit

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Traviona Alexia Esprit, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Minnie”. Traviona entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA., while surrounded by family and friends.

Rev. Norlan Arvie, Pastor of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Traviona’s memories are being cherished by her mother, Twalla Yowl (Clarence); father, Travis Esprit Sr. (Crystal); three sisters, Da’Vya Yowl, Bailey Yowl, and Charity Esprit; three brothers, Travis Esprit, Jr., Jhy’lon Yowl, and Khyle Fontenot, all of Opelousas, LA. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles including Son Sherryer Yowl, of New Orleans, LA; Maudyvonne Yowl (Paul), Jermon Yowl (Mildred), Vashanska Yowl, Christopher Esprit, Michael Esprit Jr. (Tanisha), Marcus Esprit, as well as her loving grandmother, Jannie Yowl, great grandfather Frank Esprit Sr., all of Opelousas, LA. She leaves behind a large extended family including great-grandfather, Walter Stelly; Dale and Norma Stelly, Clarence Smith, Christiana Smith, Tyrese Smith and Faith Smith, all of Lafayette, LA. Left to cherish her memories are special friends Trinity Myers, Kylie Leday, Chanterria Albert, Bianca Washington, and Ambreshia Gordwin, all of Opelousas, LA.

Traviona was preceded in death by her maternal grandfathers, James Yowl and Robert Chachere; maternal great grandparents Arcuis and Mable Richardson; paternal grandparents, Elise Lazard and Michael Esprit Sr.; paternal great grandmother, Millie Esprit, and paternal great grandparents Allen and Dorothy Smith.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 1049 N. Washington St., Opelousas, LA, 70570.
