MRS. SHIRLEY LEMELLE-HUNT OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Shirley Lemelle-Hunt, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Jeannie”, 62, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Mrs. Lemelle-Hunt leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Henry (Tina) Lemelle, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; three sisters, Lisa Coleman and Jessie Lazard (Alfred) both of Opelousas, LA and Sandy West of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Ty’Raven Hunt, Samia Thomas and Samuel Thomas; two great grandchildren, Kyemeryn Zachary and Journey Zerangue; her adopted daughters, Joyce Guillory and Ananda Bradley; two Godchidren, Kimberly Collins and Terrance Lemelle; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Lemelle-Hunt was preceded in death by: her husband, Sherman Hunt; her parents, Henry and Etheleen Charles Lemelle, Sr.; her daughter, Monica Hunt; one sister, Ethel Coleman; and one nephew, Benjamin Bradley, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December17, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
