Obituary For Rose Mary Broussard

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Ms. Rose Mary Broussard, 69, who entered eternal rest on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Pastor James Jolivette, Sr. will be officiating the funeral service.

Ms. Broussard’s memories are being cherished by: one brother, Alvin Broussard, Sr. (Vickie) of Opelousas, LA; three sisters, Elsie Gallow (Shirley), Ira Milton and Mary Lena Jones, all of Opelousas, LA and Rose Sonnier of Arnaudville, LA; two nephews she raised as her sons, Christopher Broussard and Kelan Broussard, Sr., both of Opelousas, LA; two nieces she raised as her daughters, Amanda Leday (Jeremy) of Opelousas, LA and Thyferria Hayes (Milton) of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren, Samuel Broussard, Jeremy Leday, Jr., Joshua Leday, Tremall Hayes, Kei’Myrie Broussard and Kelan Broussard, Jr.; four Godchildren, Alaya Demouchet, Tamika Chavis, Tressa Chavis and Alvin Broussard, Jr.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. Elton Broussard and Mrs. Vivian Colomb Lavergne; three brothers, Joseph Ken Broussard, Alton Charles Broussard and Ray Charles Broussard; two sisters, Shirley Broussard and Mary Rose Chachere and one Godchild, Kayla Colomb.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.

Sister Rose, was just that, EVERY and ALL definition of a "rose" that The Lord gave to her family, both spiritual and natural, and her friends during her years here on Earth. GOD came and picked HIS Rose, and placed her back into HIS Garden(HEAVEN)! I too, was privilege t0 have shared the 'fragrance" of that Beautiful Rose!
