Obituary For Milton Tyler

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Milton Tyler, 74, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 1, 2023 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Frank L. Ford, Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Tyler leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, John Derrick and Anthony Kirk Tyler, both of Opelousas, LA, Joseph Dewayne (Theshia) Tyler of Houston, TX and James Jerome Tyler of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Mary Thompson and Alicia Tyler, both of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Joseph Tyler of Opelousas, LA and Butler James (Alexandria) Tyler of Greenville, SC; seven sisters, Mary L. Hall (J.C.) of China, TX, Dorothy King of Mukiltea, WA, Gloria Dupre (Alfred, Sr.) of Opelousas, LA, Jean Guidry (Mark) of Palmetto, LA, Betty Tyler of Waggaman, LA, Cindy Jordan of Port Barre, LA and Barbara Disnuke (Ira) of Lake Charles, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Tyler is preceded in death by: his wife, Mrs. Clara Tyler; parents, Mr. Gilton and Mrs. Mary Lena Zachary Tyler; one brother, Harry Lee Tyler; one sister, Loyce Pickney; maternal grandparents, Ovide and Louise Zachary; paternal grandparents, William Tyler and Mary Lazard Tyler; and a niece, Anita King.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
