Obituary For Michael Edwards

MALLET - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA for Mr. Michael Edwards, 67, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will be in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, LA.

Fr. Stanley Jawa, S.V.D., Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Ann Catholic Church, will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Edwards leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mary Chavis Edwards of Ville Platte, LA; one son, James (Candace) Edwards of Opelousas, LA; one step son, Derrick Sparks of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Racheal Edwards (Lawrence Wheeler) of Opelousas, LA and Joella Williams (George) of Katy, TX; three brothers, David Edwards of Ville Platte, LA, William L. (Gladys) Edwards and Paul Jerry (Susan) Edwards, both of Carencro, LA; four sisters, Sheryll Derouselle (Henry) of Breaux Bridge, LA, Jacqueline Edwards Donegan (Floyd) of Augusta, GA, Marilyn Edwards Tolliver (Mike) of Breaux Bridge, LA and Susan Jones of Lafayette, LA; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Aaron and Willie Mae Guillory Edwards; two brothers, McDonald Edwards and Kenneth Edwards, Sr.; and two sisters, Barbara Edwards Guillory and Joella Edwards; stepson, Michael Sparks; granddaughter, Jaidynn E. Wheeler; and nephew, Michael Davis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church.
