Cousin Leola was my second cousin as she was first cousin to my father, Rufus J. Matthews who departed this life in November of 2022. Their mothers, Great-Aunt Beulah and my Grandmother Julia, were sisters. Although Cousin Leola and Daddy didn't see each other often, they always enjoyed great reunion during their rare meetings. Her genuine, sweet, sweet spirit moved me when I was privileged to see her, and I will never forget that. Until we meet again, dear cousin, rest well in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Rufus (Gerald) Matthews
My deepest condolences to my little Duplechain cousins who have lost their mom, Leola. Your Mom was a beautiful spirted person - may she now sleep in peace with God and his angels✝️ When Leola married our cousin-brother JC over 60 plus years ago, she added so much to the fabric of our family.❤️ She brought with her, love and a joyful spirit, and our family was made so much better because she was in it. We loved her dearly and she loved us back. Although brokenhearted, i pray Leola will be granted eternal rest and that the perpetual light will shine upon her. ✝️✝️ We will never forget you my cousin/sister and we will continue to look after your children.💔❤️
