Obituary For Litney Joseph Smith, Sr.

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Litney Joseph Smith, 96, who entered eternal rest on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, SVD will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Smith leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Joseph L. Smith, Jr. of Arnaudville, LA, Ambrose (Donna) Smith and Junius J. (Cassandra) Smith, both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Pamela A. Smith of Opelousas, LA; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by: his wife, Mary L. Sam Smith; his parents, Mr. Alex and Mrs. Lillian Smith; one brother, Chester Smith; and one sister, Georgia Williams.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.
