OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1629 Duson Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Kendrick Lewis, 24, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Gerald Toussaint, Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Kendrick’s memories are being cherished by: his father, Freddie Lewis, Jr. of Opelousas, LA and Stacy Williams Lewis (Joshua) of Opelousas, LA; paternal grandmother, Alice Thomas of Opelousas, LA; maternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Williams of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Freddie Lewis, III of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Shanta’ Lewis and Breshaelynn Lewis, both of Opelousas, LA; uncles, Cary (Shamekka) Williams of Beaumont, TX and Brian Williams of Opelousas, LA; aunts, Tracy Dickson (Wayne) of Houston, TX, Alana Lewis and Sharee Lewis (Adrian), both of Lafayette, LA; and a host of uncles, aunts, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his paternal grandfather, Freddie Lewis, Sr.; paternal great grandmother, Leslie Thomas; maternal great grandparents, Adeline and Robert Williams, Sr.; maternal great grandparents, Alexander Manuel and Elnora Manuel; uncle, Eddie Williams, Sr.; great maternal uncles, Vincent Manuel and Clarence Manuel; great maternal aunts, Teresa Manuel and Wyolona “Rene” Manuel; God father, Aaron Washington, Sr.; and cousin, Makylon Veazie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.

Kendrick had NO ENEMIES. When you spoke Kendrick's name, ALL would smile around you. He never had a chance to live. He was taken too soon...He will forever be missed but NEVER forgotten. REST IN PEACE little buddy.

To Stacey and kids I am so sorry for your loss Kendrick was a wonderful person who I had the pleasure of teaching at SouthStreet . I will always remember his laugh and how much he loved his family I will always remember he was 11 on 11-11-2011 in my classroom he said that he was lucky Rip sweet boy love ya always.
