OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 534 S. Market St., Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Julia Mae Hunt Joubert, 87, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Green Chapel Cemetery in the Little Teche Community.
Rev. Davis Clark, Pastor of Warren United Methodist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Joubert was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully and diligently. She was a member of the Sr. Usher Board, Choir, Stewardship Committee, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a long-time member of the Golden Star Chapter No. 26, Order of Eastern Star, Opelousas, LA.
Mrs. Joubertβs memories are being cherished by: her four sons, Kenneth (Averil) Joubert, Marvin (Linda) Joubert, Michael Joubert and Christopher (Cynthia) Joubert, all of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Barbara Joubert of Opelousas, LA and Rhonda Florence (Winston, Jr.) of Abilene, TX; a daughter-in-law, Rose Cookie Hunt of Opelousas, LA; one brother-in-law, Clarence Shelby of Houston, TX; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three Godchildren, Corey Davis, Raywood Joubert and Janet Hope; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Mervin Joubert; her parents, Loucious and Sylvia McCoy Hunt; three sons, Lonnie Hunt, Donald Ray Joubert and infant Bobby Joubert; two brothers, Marion Hunt and Patrick Hunt, Sr.; four sisters, Mazie Shelby, Evelina Harris, Alice Lovings and Sarah Hunt Cain; and one grandson, Nigel Kyle Gabriel.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Mark United Methodist Church.
