OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Johnny Amadie a/k/a "Johnny Kool", 82, who entered eternal rest on Friday, December 11, 2020 at HCA Pearland Hospital. Interment will be in Mohorn Baptist Church Cemetery in Plaisance, LA.
Rev. Gary Hollie, Pastor of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Houston, TX, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Amadie leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, John (Mary) Amadie and Curtis Amadie, both of Los Angeles, CA, Cedric (Diana) Amadie and Andre Robinson, both of Houston, TX; two daughters, Elouise Price (Donald) of Houston, TX and Catherine Francis of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Nervin Amadie of Lawtell, LA; three sisters, Beulah Arclese and Rosa Arclese, both of Opelousas, LA and Bertrice Handy of Houston, TX; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Ruby Haskette Amadie; one daughter, Ronita Amadie; his parents, Douglas Amaday and Elouise Thomas Amaday; four brothers, Irvin Amaday, Gilbert Amaday, Nolton Amaday and Floyds Gums; and four sisters, Nara Lee Guidry, Alice Lou Jones, Lena Amadie and Mary Amadie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
