CHURCH POINT – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mr. Gerald Guidry, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Gray”, 71, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice, LA. Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy #2 Cemetery in Church Point, LA.
Fr. Chrysan Thus Ugovji, S.V.D. will be officiating the funeral mass.
Mr. Guidry’s memories are being cherished by: his three sons, James Monroe of Houston, TX, John (Lanita) Jacobs of Grand Coteau, LA and Josh (Paige) Guidry of Church Point, LA; one brother, Paul Guidry of Church Point, LA; seven sisters, Carol Bellard (Whitney), Gertie Guidry and Debra Guidry-Thomas, all of Church Point, LA, Theresa Mouton of Crowley, LA, twin sister Geraldine Rogers of Beaumont, TX, Margorie Guidry and Florence Guidry, both of Lafayette, LA; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Guidry is preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. Lennis Guidry and Mrs. Florence Guillory Guidry; three brothers, Phillip, Antonio and Anthony Guidry; and two sisters, Mildred Woods and Genora Citizen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to: the Staff of Eunice Manor Nursing Home for going above and beyond and for making him comfortable during his last days. Also, thanks to all who said prayers, called and sent texts.
