As 1 of his 4 nephews, to remember the life of Elliot Jerome Donato is no easy task. As an uncle, he brought life to any room he stepped in. We admired uncle Jerome. He much stronger than he looked. He had this bow he used to hunt with. He would ask us to draw it back (to test our strength). I don't know if any of us ever were able to do it. Then he would take it from us and effortlessly draw it back as far as it could go, like it was a children's toy. "Boy you need to get you some muscles like me", he would tell us. He was intelligent. He seemed to know a little bit about everything. There was never a conversation he couldn't contribute to. He was skilled. He could fix cars, he could put his foot in a pot of gumbo, he knew about computer stuff. We all wanted to be as versatile as uncle Jerome was.

That is how I remember my uncle Jerome. And that is how I will always remember him. Gone too soon. Rest In Peace and Providence Unc. We got things down here now. We won't let you down. Say what's up to PaPa for us all. See you again in Paradise.
