Obituary For Carrie Brown

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Mark Baptist Church in the Plaisance Community for Mrs. Carrie M. Brown, 90, who passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Jason Rubin, Pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral services. Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.

Cherishing Mrs. Brown’s memories are: her son, Ernest Brown, Jr. (Shountinez) of Ville Platte, LA; four daughters, Carolyn “Wine” Marzette, Rose Mary McCarthy (Earl), Maxine B. Simon (Gary) and Janice M. Brown, all of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Arthur Lee Thierry of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Dorothy T. Thompson of New Orleans, LA; three God children, Rosetta Partman of Opelousas, LA, Gary Jones of New Orleans, LA and Lester Malone of Lafayette, LA; thirteen grandchildren, David Baker, Daryl Baker, Constance McCarthy, Earl McCarthy, Jr., Crystal McCarthy, Carl McCarthy, Courtney McCarthy, Chanieta Fuselier Smith, Matthew Simon, Marcus Brown, Kiara Brown, Jennifer Brown and Brittany Simon; nineteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest Brown, Sr.; her parents, Leonce and Harriet Joseph Thierry; one daughter, Lillie Brown; five brothers, Arthur Thierry, Clarence Thierry, Ferdie Thierry, Fred Thierry and James Thierry; and six sisters, Gustavia Cameron, Mable Joubert, Gladys Jones, Agnes Chevis, Annie Lee Robinson and Harriet Thierry.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church.
