Obituary For Bobbie Winfrey

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Bobbie Joyce Lavergne Winfrey, 77, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Houston, TX. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Keven Winbush will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Winfrey’s memories are being cherished by: her daughter, Monica Winfrey Marshall (Willie) of Houston, TX; two sons, Damian Tramain Winfrey of Atlanta, GA and Derrick Keith Winfrey of Houston, TX; siblings, Albert “Chubby” (Mary Jo) Lavergne, Jr. of Bristol, TN and Sandra “Kay” Guillory of Zachary, LA; five grandchildren, Jordan Marshall, Nadia Marshall-Lacy (D’Marcus), McKynzie Marshall, Jakayla Winfrey and Jakyra Winfrey; three great grandchildren; Kynlee Marshall, Joanna Marshall and Kasey Marshall; Godchildren, Antiffany Guillory and Tanyell Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Albert Lavergne, Sr. and Leatrice Lavergne; her husband, Charles Winfrey, Jr.; sister, Patricia Ann Jack; grandchild, Jaquille Thomas; mother-in-law, Anna Belle Winfrey; brother-in-law, Terral Guillory; sister-in-law, Dianna Belle Lewis; and son-in-law, Ray Marshall.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
