Derrick was one of the best students I had the honor to teach at Rome Middle. He was always a joy to be around. He will be missed by a lot of people. Praying for his friends and family. Love you Derrick, hope to see you again one day. Tommy Baker

This man was the highlight of my day any time I saw him. He always made a positive impact on me every time we spoke in Dollar General or Subway. His humor and honesty were refreshing, and he always had me laughing. I hope his family and friends know that people Derrick didn't really know will remember him. He will be missed by so many people in Cedar Bluff. I wish you all comfort and peace.
