Charlie was proceeded in death by his grandsons- Tyrek and Charles, granddaughter- CiAnna, brothers- Doctor T, Elmo, Will, Leroy, and Clyde, and his sister- Fannie.

Charlie was born on April 21, 1940, in Lacrosse, VA one of twelve children of the late Haywood and Harriette Walker. Charlie was a true momma’s boy; he would do anything to make his favorite lady smile. Charlie was baptized at an early age and joined First Baptist Church where he began to sing in the church choir in his hometown. He would later continue his singing passion with his group Trumpet Kings who perform medleys of gospel and Motown hits.

At the young age of 16, Charlie packed up and moved to Washington, DC to go live with his older brother Elmo Walker and worked hard as a gas station attendant. This is where Charlie transformed from a hardworking teen to legendary businessman. He knew early on the balue of hard work and work ethic. In his early 40’s, he sold the Shell station to purchase his pride and joy Charlie Walker’s Towing in Cheverly, MD.

Although Charlie accomplished great success in his endeavors, nothing gave him more pride then passing his legacy on to his children and grandchildren. He taught his family and friends the value of hard work and business acumen. They would spend countless hours together learning the towing trade and many of his protégé’s have gone on to embark in their own businesses, modeling their teachings, his smile and laugh were contagious and his spirit is forever giving.

He was survived by his special friend Sophie; loving sons- Ricky, Thaddeus, Antonio, Charles and Kevin; daughters- Stephanie and Andrea; his brothers- Haywood Jr. and Pete, sisters- Sophia, Catherine, and Alice, a host of grandkids, great grandkids, family and friends.
