MRS. BERNICE JEANETTE WASHINGTON COLEMAN, affectionately known as “Boosie,” was born January 9, 1964, in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Milton White and Jeanette Hendrick, and departed this life June 21, 2024, in VCU-MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers- Kent and Calvin White and a sister- Wanda Thompson.
Bernice attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. After high school, she began working at Pizza Hut, where she was employed for over 25 years. Nobody could make a pizza like “Boosie.”
In her spare time, she loved dancing to her old school music, playing Tunk, drinking her Budweiser and cussing somebody out! Bernice enjoyed life and that was being around family and friends.
“Boosie” leaves to mourn her husband- Nelson Coleman, LaCrosse, VA; 3 daughters- Angel Washington of the home; Britney Dunson, Lawrenceville, VA and Chaneka Harris of the home; 9 step-children; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters- Ernestine (Dennis) Walker, South Hill, VA; Sylvia (Garrick) Crayton, Brodnax, VA; a devoted aunt- Barbara Legette, White Plains, VA; sister-in-law, Pauline Edmonds, Brodnax, VA; son-in-law, Reginald Seward, Woodbridge, VA; 3 aunts- Jean McCoy, Pastor Shirley Elam, and Lillie Mae Tisdale; 2 uncles- Jerry Washington and Ernest White; devoted friends- Linda Harris, Brian Johnson, Shannon Harris, Trevor Valentine, Camie Minor, Brenda and Jo Macklin, Sarah Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, step-grands and great-grands, cousins other relatives and friends.
