ANTHONY DAVIS, son of Rosa Topping and the late Simmi Shannon, was born June 7, 1958 in Elizabeth, NJ and departed this life November 12, 2024 in the Hundley Center, South Hill, VA.
Anthony was reared by his grandparents, Lenora and Lee Davis in Virginia.
At an early age he joined Diamond Grove RZUA Church in Union Level, VA. Anthony was a 1976 graduate of the former Park View Senior High School. He matriculated to St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA where he received his degree in Business Management.
On May 10, 1986, Anthony married Sarah Stone and to this union two children were born.
Back in the day he was a DJ and he was known as the “Mystery Man” on the WSHV Radio Station, South Hill, VA.
Anthony was a skilled carpenter and he adored carpentry work and other odd jobs until his health began to fail. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and having a good time with his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by his caring and devoted wife- Sarah Stone Davis of the home; two children- Anthony (Detra) Davis, II of South Hill, VA and Kimberlyn Davis of Norlina, NC. Children he help reared- Keontre' Barksdale and grandson- Kamari Davis; five grandchildren; his grand-dog he loved, King Anthony Davis; six sisters- Gail Davis, Gloria and Sandra Leonard, Karen and Cynthia Shannon and Darlene Covington; six brothers- William Topping, Jr., Willie Leonard, Jimmie Shannon, Jr., Thomas, Allen, and Derrick Shannon; five brothers-in-law, Wilson and Russell Stone, Kenny (Mary Frances) Stone, James (Doretha) Stone and Larry Stone (Nicole); three sisters-in-law, Shirley (James) Daniel, Josephine (Ken) Ponton, and Frances (Clarence) Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are too numerous to mention them all.
Bless the Davis Family! Brother, was definitely a very, good man! Diamond Grove RZUA trained, edified by the Word of God. Thank God for his life and again bless the family.
