MR. ALPHONSO HARRIS, JR, affectionately called βAl,β son of the late Virginia Walker Harris and Alphonso Harris, Sr. was born October 17, 1958 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life March 27, 2023 in MCV-VCU Hospital, Richmond, VA.
Alphonso was a 1980 graduate of the former Park View Senior High School, South Hill, VA.
Al later was employed by Virginia Modular Homes, Boydton, VA for over 30 years until his retirement.
In his spare time he enjoyed watching westerns on TV, playing cards, basketball, and dancing especially to his favorite song, βJust Fine, Fine, Fine...β by Mary J. Blige.
Al leaves to cherish his memory are 2 children- Anitra Wilkins, LaCrosse, VA and Chaneka Harris, Emporia, VA; 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers- James (Patricia) Harris, White Plains, VA; Curtis (Myong) Harris, Lawrenceville, VA; Robert Harris (Clarrisa) South Hill, VA and Cornell (Sharon) Harris, Raleigh, NC; 4 sisters- Maude Walker and Vivian Harris (Charlie) of LaCrosse, VA; Linda Harris (Bryant) and Brenda (Joe) Macklin, all of Bracey, VA; devoted companion- Catherine Wilkins, LaCrosse, VA; 2 aunts- Ida Mae Jiggetts, LaCrosse, VA and Rozell Walker, Virginia Beach, VA; 1 uncle- George Evans, Virginia Beach, VA; devoted nieces- Shannon Harris and Patricia Drumgole; devoted friends- Lowell Smith, Albert Simmons, Tim Burton, and Camie Minor, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
